True Crime Video Game Cover - this image was made in the form of a video game cover. All images were extracted from existing works using Photoshop. I used a layer mask with a gradient for the sky, and channels and paths to manage the color and a type path for the vector title to retain its clarity. One of my favorite parts of this image is the custom gangster shadow that lays against the car. For this effect I duplicated the gangster, adjusted the color among other things, and bent the shadow to form to the car. The main character came from a 50's TV show and the opacity was adjusted to give the overall image a dream-like feel.

Web Site Splash Page - this image was created using channels to manage colors, particularly the sky and main background. The images were taken from existing works using Photoshop and the background is a photo I took of La Jolla, CA. A vector mask was used for the water droplets taken from the main beach photograph. Layer masks were used for the beach sand, the main background, and the sky. Curves were used to balance the image and to provide a lighter overall feel. Applying a 3-D bevel to the characters and fish gave the splash page a fun look. The TV screen was placed over the image and a working enter button was placed dead-center, via a Photoshop hotspot.

Hand with Globe - this image used masks and channels to achieve these effects. The images were extracted in Photoshop. The road was adjusted to bend around the globe, and then around the hand. A level mask was used for the overall effect of the image, and managed by a channel. A hue / saturation mask was linked to the hand - globe layer, which was also managed by a channel. The sky was blurred with a Gaussian Blur and masked to create the circular aurora. A feathered mask was used for the streaming light and managed by the levels mask.

Rainy Day Image - this image was created using two sets: umbrella set and tree set. In the umbrella set, alpha channels were used to create three different parts of the umbrella and to define the umbrella itself which was created from an underpainting and decorated with instances of a flower. A frame was set into the umbrella. The raincoat was included in this set. The tree was sketched in Photoshop and the outline was colored in and highlights added. The grass was extracted using a feathered mask. A simple matte background was added and an inner shadow was added to the main image. Finally, the image was flattened.

Montage - this montage was created using channels for layer masks of each of the pears in the top left corner, and for color balance of the leaf. The pear images were duplicated and adjusted in the bottom left corner. Simple and attractive.

Diesel Image - the diesel grill was created using a work path to cut holes in a background. The holes were then bent for a worn look. A layer set was used to link a copy of a rust layer to the word Diesel, which was adjusted with a bevel and drop shadow. Another layer set was used for the images which included a knockout gradient, the metal grill, curves for color adjustment and the main rust layer. A gradient background was used.

Pro Am Golf Tournament Flyer - this flyer was created using a vector mask and work path for the word invitational and the flagpole, which were set into a gradient. A vector mask was used for the golfball, which included an outer glow, bevelling, and a gradient overlay. A vector mask was also used for the sky background and star guides were set behind the stars.
