Fresh Foods RFID Implementation Project
Organizational Needs:

The RFID project must be undertaken to allow Fresh Foods Market to have a competitive advantage in the food industry by satisfy customer demands for easy check out with shorter lines. The organizational needs for satisfying customers have been discovered through market research. A survey called “How are we satisfying you as a customer” was preformed by Fresh Foods Market research department which portrayed that customers live busy lives. The data from the survey showed Fresh Foods executives that convenience is important to their customers and satisfying customers would increase profit margins. Fresh Foods Markets strategic goal is to satisfy customers to increase profits. There are many limitations that will allow Fresh Foods to define the RFID project that should be undertaken. In Los Angeles customers are not interested in standing in line to pay for groceries. It is the most annoying part of grocery shopping says 86% of customers who took the survey. Researchers at Fresh Foods Market also found that in order to increase profit margins, customers must be satisfied. If the lines were shorter customers would chose Fresh Foods over any convenience store or market. This data came from straight from Fresh Foods survey. The data from the survey provided Fresh Foods researchers the ability to define the limitations that Fresh Foods faces as a company. Fresh Foods Market lacks the register space that can increase efficiency at a lower cost. The location of the store is perfect to allow for increasing profit margins for Fresh Foods Market. Moving Fresh Foods would not be a good organizational strategic project, so moving is not an option. The researchers at Fresh Foods Market found that another limitation consists of having to scan each item one at a time. This is a slow process and having a multi scanner would be more efficient. The need for RFID is a high priority for Fresh Foods Market to take the rights steps in the right direction. Fresh Foods must continue to market research to obtain the maximum results of maximizing profits by satisfying customers by providing easy check out with shorter lines. Fresh Foods will comply with market changes to allow for organizational needs to be met.
